Any person or organization wanting to sell fireworks in Finney County must apply for a permit through the County Clerk's office. Applications are available here or can be requested at the Clerk's office.
- Applications must be approved by the Finney County Fire Chief before being presented to the Finney County Clerk. PROOF OF LIABILITY INSURANCE IS REQUIRED with application.
- Applications submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the sale or display date will require a payment of $100.00 paid to the Finney County Clerk at the time of application.
- Applications submitted less than two (2) weeks prior to the sale or display date will require a payment of $200.00 paid to the Finney County Clerk at the time of application.
Permit is valid only on the date and at the location in which is on the application and authorizes only the display and/or sale of fireworks for the public.
All fireworks stands must be outside of the city limits and must follow guidelines set forth by the County Fire Chief (contact Fire Dept for specific guidelines). Violations of this permit shall constitute a Class C misdemeanor under the provisions of K.S.A. 19-101(d).
