Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

About Us

Finney County EMS is the primary agency responsible for the out-of-hospital care and transportation of persons who become acutely ill or injured and in need of ambulance transport to a hospital. We staff three ambulances 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Finney County EMS averages 3,200 calls per year between one station in Holcomb, KS and one station in Garden City, KS In 2024 a third station will be constructed at Schulman Avenue and Jennie Barker Road in Garden City. This post will be a joint collaboration with Garden City Fire Department and Garden City Police Department.

History

Finney County Emergency Medical Services began in 1976 when the service transitioned from a private company to a County service. Since then the department has grown from 6 full-time Paramedics to the current staff of 18.
