Each deputy plays an important role in the receipt and service of arrest warrants on the local level. It is also this division’s responsibility to handle the Transportation and Extradition matters for Finney County fugitives arrested in other jurisdictions.
The Warrant Division is composed of a Captain, a Sergeant, four certified deputies, and two office deputies that handle the majority of the incoming phone calls to this Division.
It is also the responsibility of the personnel to process nearly 200 incoming arrest warrants per month. The office deputies continually enter, update, and maintain wanted person entries. These entries are made in the National, State, and local wanted person computer system. They also prepare all paperwork for hearings conducted on behalf of inmates being held on out-of-state matters.
