Kansas Department of Health & Environment has awarded the Finney County Fairgrounds with a $3,190 grant that purchased ten green environmentally friendly park benches. These park benches are a responsible design for the future, they are made of recycled rubber and plastics. They are an attractive seating choice. These new benches are moisture and sun resistant, they don't splinter, split or rot. Project was funded in part by the Waste Tire Management Grant, from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment.
Park benches were made by Champlin Tire Recycling, Inc. (CTRI) That has been a family owned and operated business since it's inception as a Kansas Corporation in 1992. CTRI offers full service tire recycling including pickup, transportation, and processing of scrap tires. CTRI owns and operate a plastic extruding plant and a tire processing, retreading, and reclamation center in Concordia, KS. Currently CTRI processes over 4 million tires annually in a six-state region.
