Farmer For A Day, a 20-year-old staple at county fairs, began as a statewide 4-H fair exhibit to help educate young kids who would not otherwise be exposed to farm life.
The exhibit includes an opportunity to pet baby goats, a mock-potato-farming patch where kids can get firsthand experience at “picking” potatoes from a box of dirt and a fake cow that can be milked.
