The Public Works Department provides direct services to the public as well as support services to other departments. The Department consists of several primary divisions.

Primary Services
- Maintenance of designated county roads - patching, mowing, grading, surfacing, and snow/ice removal
- Construction of county road and bridge projects
- Permits/authorization for entrances, utilities and other right of way accommodations along county roads
- Connection permits and operation of rural sewer districts
- Road records/right of way files
- Survey records
- Noxious weed management and herbicide sales
