About the Department

The Public Works Department provides direct services to the public as well as support services to other departments. The Department consists of several primary divisions.

Primary Services  

  • Maintenance of designated county roads - patching, mowing, grading, surfacing, and snow/ice removal
  • Construction of county road and bridge projects
  • Permits/authorization for entrances, utilities and other right of way accommodations along county roads
  • Connection permits and operation of rural sewer districts
  • Road records/right of way files
  • Survey records
  • Noxious weed management and herbicide sales
