The State of Kansas, through KSA 79-41a04, has established the Alcoholic Liquor Fund to distribute revenues from alcoholic liquor taxes to local units of government. The law outlines how these funds are allocated based on the location and population of cities within each county.

    • Caterers whose principal place of business is located outside city limits
    • Temporary permit holders whose permitted events occur outside city limits
(Funds must be paid into the state treasury during the applicable allocation period)
  • 23⅓% of the amount collected from:

    • Clubs, public venues, or drinking establishments located within a city in the county that has a population of 6,000 or less
    • Caterers whose principal place of business is located in such cities
    • Temporary permit holders whose permitted events occur in such cities
(Funds must be paid into the state treasury during the applicable allocation period)
