Advance Voting
Advance Voting by Mail
Any registered voter may receive an advance ballot by request. [K.S.A. 25-1122]
For a Primary Election occurring on the first Tuesday of August, Advance by Mail applications may be submitted between April 1 and the Tuesday of the week preceding the Primary Election. [K.S.A. 25-1122(f)(1)]
For a General Election occurring on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November, Advance by Mail applications may be submitted between 90 days prior to such election and until the Tuesday of the week preceding the General Election. [K.S.A. 25-1122(f)(2)]
An application is good for one election. You must apply for each election.
Permanent Advance Voting
You may request an application for Permanent Advance Ballot. You must be disabled or otherwise unable to vote at the polls on a permanent basis. K.S.A. 25-1122(h)]
Submitting Your Advance/Permanent Advance Ballot
- By mail: All ballots returned via U.S. Mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day AND received no later than three days after the election
- In-person prior to election day: Hand-deliver your ballot to the County Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- In-person on election day: Hand-deliver your ballot to the County Clerk’s Office or any Polling Location within Finney County between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
In-Person Advance Voting
Any registered voter may vote early in person in the County Clerk’s Office. Advanced voting may begin 20 days prior to the election and must begin by the Tuesday preceding Election Day. In-person Advance voting is available until noon the day prior to an election [K.S.A. 25-1122(g)]. Always check the current election page for a schedule of dates for the current election cycle.
Military or Overseas Voting
Military personnel stationed within the United States or overseas may request a ballot be mailed to them. Non-military Kansas Citizens visiting overseas may also request a ballot. An FPCA Registration and Absentee Ballot Request must be completed and returned to the County Clerk. Learn more about Military and Overseas voting.
